I have been riding a scooter for several months now having passed my CBT. I want to start riding a geared bike I have one in mind a Yamaha ybr 125 which I plan on buying early next year. I first need to learn how to ride one, What would be the cheapest way to go about it I don't fancy retaking my CBT as it isn't required.

You could just buy one and learn by yourself. You might stall a couple of times before you get a feel for the clutch bite but it's really not hard at all. I'd certainly recommend having a go before you spend money being "taught" how to pull a lever in with your hand and flick another up with your foot.

As said above, you could learn how to ride one or you could talk to the school you done the CBT with and ask for the price of a geared conversion. We charge £20 and teach the gears on our bike in the safety of our yard and then take you on the road for a while too.

I think this option is best I just can't remember that name of the school I did my CBT with. Would it have to be with the same school or do you think any school would teach me?

Most any school will be happy to give a lesson to show you how to ride a geared bike!

This.

If you look on your CBT cert it will have the name and address of the school in one of the boxes at the very bottom of the page.
