Tinting visor.

I'm not sure how the LCD will handle being bent, we all know visors flex when opening/shutting/cleaning etc...

The idea looks fantastic though, also leads the way to HUD's a bit more than the current attempts.

Looks like a good idea, but why is he not doing it with his gloves on? Can see it being a bit of a pain trying to do it while on the move.

Without gloves on and visor has to be open because the button is on the inside...

And why does it look like his thumb is within the visor? Better be an easy to use button!

Oh, and why not add solar panels and a wind turbine on the top to recharge it? Shocked

Something else to buy batteries for, charge up, worry about.

Or spend 15 seconds changing a clear visor to a tinted one.

I'm assuming you didn't read the article... If you did you'd know the control unit for the prototype is on the inside, where as on the final product it will be on the outside.

Might be good if you could have a couple of grades of tint. I find most drop down tints not dark enough, though better than nothing. But I do suspect it will be too expensive to bother with.

Riding without a tinted visor (I use a drop down in my helmet) is impossible here, as long as this is robust I'm more than happy to pay for it. I charge my helmet anyway (bluetooth) so it's nothing new to plug it in every other week

The rear view and door mirrors on my Audi do a similar thing to this visor.
In that instance it's controlled by a light sensitive sensor. Being particularly sensitive
to glare anyway I will miss this feature when I sell the car.
If broken the glass for my door mirrors is £200 odd quid..... Each. Glass part only.
It seems the cost of this tech is coming down.
I like the idea of using it in a visor if it works well but would still prefer it to work by sensor. Surely hands free operation would be better?
