Looking for something A2 legal. Preferably a sports bike or upright bike that's good for taking a pillion and better for hooning on.

Liked bandits, but I can get better for my money. Hornet perhaps. Ideas?

How much money? [READ TITLE, NOOB]

And do you prefer leany-forwards (SV650) or sitty-upwards (ER6)?

"Good for taking a pillion"
"A2 bike"

Pick one. 47bhp is bullshit even for one person, never mind two. It'll manage but no A2 bike will handle it well power-wise.

Would need to be restricted to 22kW / 29.5hp because fun.

Sorry, I missed the budget in the title. That's pretty much Suzuki territory: Bandit (sit up) or SV650 (lean forwards).

SV650 is supposedly a pretty decent first big bike. I have ridden the SV1000 (burnt my leg on the bloody exhaust),I would assume it's similar. Easy enough to ride. Mind the front cylinder in the wet, they are known to have moisture ingress. Other than that pretty dependable from people I know who have had them long term.

When did you get off L's? Congrats!

I've an SV650 (2005 model, unfaired) at the moment and I must say, when I was researching them they seemed to get a good bit of grief, but I've been really happy with the bike. I can see where folk are coming from with some points, but for the most part I found it to have enough grunt to get the job done (and should still be when restricted), and very forgiving at points.

I'm yet to take anyone pillion yet so can't speak for that, but my wee VRX400 Honda was very comfy at decent speeds when pillion, and that only chucked out 33bhp from factory, so the SV650 should be good for it too.

I think I would have liked a fairing on this one, but I'm still really happy with it.

Hate to part with it of course but not getting any younger and
the constant wild uninhabited sex it brings me is wearing me out.

On second thoughts, I'm doing my DAS.

Is getting a decent R6 on that budget logical?

Don't like SV650's, especially faired, they look, I don't know, 'bubbly' to me...

I'm R6 biased to be honest so consider this an 'if I can't find a decent R6 for the price' thread.

I'm pretty sure theres a person for every Brand/Model of bike that will pop up and say 'you sure you want that'?

There's not one bike out there that's all all rounder in everyones eyes, or is there...
