An average of about £100 a day for sharing a room isn't awful if it's good hotels, but while my gf and I are planning a Norway trip this year, there is no way we're doing anything escorted, and I think we can probably do it for less than 200 a day (two people & two bikes).

You can't drink anyway, very low limits and zero tolerance so no problem there Very Happy

It is a beautiful country though and I will definitely go back some time.

Must admit its a place i have always fancied visiting but reading about some prices has kind of put me off. Is eating out, hotels, fuel all just as expensive?

Yup, everything is expensive. I took a 8 minute shuttle bus ride - 7 quid. Beer a tenner (or 7 quid for a bottle). They do off-license beer in coke-can size it's so expensive. Hotel buffet meal for one - 30 quid (plus beer).

Luxury goods is taxed very highly, my mate bought a new Ford Galaxy - 65 grand.

I went a couple of years ago and fuel was about £1.50 a litre I think. We ate out one night in the centre of Oslo and I didn't think it was that bad. Food was reasonably priced and beer was certainly not £10 a pint. We spent a long weekend at a bike rally and it was £2.50 a bottle, so plenty was drunk as we parked the bikes up for the weekend. Overall it is more expensive than most countries but you are on your holidays so who cares Very Happy

See thats not to bad as its not as if i would be there for a piss up. More one or two nights passing through and your right, your on holiday so splash out a bit. Bet if i suggest it to the wife it will be "Take the car" Very Happy

Never understood the point of an organised tour. Just go and do it yourself.

True Norway is a beautiful country. Too bad it's illegal to ride anywhere off the roads.
