What is it with insurance companies.Last year I paid £243 to insure my bike fully comp,i've just recieved my renewal reminder and the cheapest they can now do it for is £554.
I know if I question it they will probably drop the price accordingly but why send such a ridiculous quote out in the first place. The only thing they have achieved is -1 customer........vultures.

Maybe better in General Bike.

But...

It is a service some offer to encourage you to shop around. Smile

Shop around Every renewal. They do not need your loyalty. Obviously.

They do it to see if they can get away with it. Find cheaper and say good bye. Sometimes they'll offer to price match which I reply with "You had your chance".

Saying my car insurance was the same price or cheaper than others this year Smile

I like people who don't shop about. By them paying more helps me to have lower premiums.

If everybody shopped around then my cost would go up.

There is making money and there is blatantly trying to rip people off.....its quite easy to make the distinction.

What really annoys me is when they use the card details you gave them to pay for 1 years insurance to auto renew.

I got caught like that because I didn't tick the right box. I paid for 1 years insurance with my debit card and thought that was it, oh no, silly boy. We will use your card details to renew. Evil or Very Mad

I honestly didn't think that was allowed at the time.

On the other hand, Hastings Direct promised/threatened to auto-renew me at a competitive price, without noticing that the card had expired. This was information that they had but I didn't.

No renewal, no contact from them. Millions of kittens could have died unavenged.
