Having a bit of a issue with my new steering races hoping someone can help, fitted tapered roller bearings and i couldnt get the steering yoke/stem to sit flush with the frame neck when fitted.

Had to remove the races for tapered and was a pain in the arse tried freezing them etc eventually got them out with causing to nick and catch the inside of the frame neck where the yoke fit i have filed down so it is smooth rather than jagged edges everywhere...

Now i have fitted a new original top race and it protrudes slightly at the rear literally mm's have attached pictures but not sure if its visible would this affect handling as i cant afford to take it a bike shop or buy a new frame ? The yoke fits nicely into the frame neck no gap at all

Also anybody aware where the overflow/vent hose from a kwak kmx radiator goes i am guessing somewhere around the tank area hanging down incase of coolant overflowing?

I might be misunderstanding what you're saying but looks like the race needs to tapped down - is there a gap between where the race is now and it's seat in the frame?

Thanks for the reply, you have understood it right but it will not be drifted anymore than this have tried everything bar from using the bolt, washer and nut trick to push it down + the bottom race up..

Im just curious if this will cause any issues being a little bit proud? It really isnt much, Have looked underneath in the frame neck and cant see any reason why it is doing this? Its a genuine new race, Like i say i cant afford to take it to a shop mainly due to the fact the bike isnt complete at the minute
