Recommend me a computer keyboard

My old heavy compaq one is buggered. It's pumping out errors I KNOW aren't typos with increasing frequency. While I can't touch type, I broadly use the correct fingers and some of these errors are miles away from anywhere I'd have had a finger.

Here's the "Hold down both shift keys and type the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" test:

I'm too tight to go for a new mechanical and someone will undoubtedly wreck it if I do. Was thinking of around the £30-40 range.

Been ages since I bought one that wasn't the cheapest in the shop for work. Looking for:
Wired,
UK QUERTY,
Non-ergonomic
Function and navigation keys and a numberpad.

Not all that enamoured with the "flat" key type like they use on apples.

Big and heavy is a plus, not a minus.

Plainer the better, It's for typing, not gaming or posting pictures of.

Any of Cherry's keyboards. They're really good, and very solid. They're also relatively cheap.

I broke my old Dell keyboard recently so just bought a new one. Another Dell, the KB522, I think it's available in UK, I specifically wanted the US layout though. It's not quite as heavy and robust as the old Dell one (RT7D30) I had, took a day or 2 to become fully used to the slight difference in it and able to touch type properly. But I'm very happy with it now.

It's got just the right amount of travel in the keys but less than the RT7, a few little media/shortcut buttons at the top, but nothing silly or over the top.

I did buy a wireless one from Maplin a while back, hated typing on it, constantly pressing the wrong keys, so took it back. It wasn't cheap, but felt cheap, too light, shallow key press, keys felt too close together.

The all time classic is the Model M, although it's a bit long in the tooth now. Virtually indestructible.

It proves that what you are pressing isn't being cleanly signalled to the PC. I'm utterly convinced mine is sending out spurious letters. Probably when I hit two keys similtaneously or very nearly similtaneously. I should get inversions when this happens, not errors.

A very good keyboard will show the whole phrase.

I find myself needing to ask: what possible real-world scenario could one find oneself in where holding both shift keys is necessary?

Keep an eye on Ebay. My brother just picked up an almost new CM Storm with black keys for £35.
I dont see much point in spending more than £10 on anything thats non mechanical though. The best rubber dome keyboard i've used anyway is some IBM one i paid £7 for 4 on ebay. They all end up going a bit soft and naff feeling after about a year anyway.

Brand new Dell kb1421 that came with an OptiPlex 780 that I picked up nos for £60 from a car boot, gave the pc to my brother and kept the keyboard/mouse.

no issues in normal use either, wonder if it is a usb vs ps2 thing?
