Can anyone recommend a company that can ultrasonically clean all the engine casings of a 125cc single cylinder engine, I've had it vapour blasted but it has lots of the media grit they used still in the threads etc, A company in Yorkshire is preferable but not essential.

Hello, photos wouldn't help really the grit is right down bottom of the threaded holes. I've managed to get some out by re-tapping them but it's still niggling away at me that there is some left in.
I totally agree with you but i've used 2 different companies and both have left me with grit in the threads the first time I ruined a cylinder head by forcing a bolt in. Ideally a company that will vapour blast and then sonically clean would be perfect for any engines i want cleaning in the future.

Could you not just clean out yourself with a compressor and some brushes?

I don't have access to a compressor unfortunately ( don't even have electricity in my garage )
I have found AJS Vapourclean in Hull I'll give them a ring and see what they say.

Thanks for your replies Surprised

Stick them through a dishwasher cycle.

If you're regularly having crankcases cleaned, might be worth investing in a cheap second hand one off ebay, you'd be surprised how nicely it brings them up.
