So... I recently lost one of my R&G crash protectors, i initially thought id had it nicked. However, turnout they are actually loosening themselves off after about 1-2k miles.

Any one else have issues with this? whats the best way to stop it?

I take it the mighty rumble of the underpowered parallel twin is probably vibrating them loose.

Use a torque wrench and loctite.

Don't overtighten them though, you'll strip the threads in the engine. I did that on my TT600, and I had to helicoil it.

+1 for Loctite - but tighten the bolts when the engine is hot.

Take care when using loctite near fairings. My mate had three front mudguards crack around the bolt holes after he started using loctite to fix the bolts in. Turned out that the curing vapours were making the lugs go brittle.

I've torqued them up to 40nm as per the instructions. Just surprised they are undoing so quickly.

I shall invest in some loctite i think. it doesn't touch the fairings, just pops through the vent on them.
