Have a Zx-6R 1996 F2 Ninja.
Rebuilt the bike over the winter, took it out on Saturday M62 to Liverpool. All went well.. On the way home stopped at Hartshead Moor Services to fill up, bike wouldn't start. Pressed ignition, lights went dim.. no clicking, nothing...
So started with, new Solenoid, nothing, new battery, loud clicking... Removed the started motor, works fine wiring it up to a battery independently. On closer inspection, the clicking seems to be coming from the fuel pump??
I've exhausted my bike knowledge on this matter, can anyone point me in the right direction please?? Very Happy

It's not best to try and fix things by just replacing parts, it'll get expensive quick.

Obvious question to start, have you checked the fuses? Including the fuse on the starter solenoid?

What voltage is the battery? Can you bump start it?

Have checked all fuses, put the old Solenoid back on, nothing at all,(all lights on etc, push starter, all light go dim) hence though it's solenoid. Had battery checked, bad cell, hence new battery..

Bought Solenoid from a reputable dealer, who said it's for a F2, could it be a wrong one??

Tried bumping it, But, can't get far, (I'm old and in need of parts myself.. LOL!!) It turns over, but can't get far enough to start it..

Dont push a bike !
If it won't start on the button, it has a fault so fix the fault.
As said, 'swap and hope' is bad and expensive practise.
Sudden stops with no warning may be something as simple as a bad connection so test dont guess.

I haven't seen any reference to the basic tests we should always do
for a non starter so suggest you find someone local who's competant, can read a drawing and will put a meter on it for a drink/drugs/sexual favours/pics of kittens
