Is he trying to say it's racked up 336 miles from being pushed around a classroom? Fishy.. But it is clean and original

Ahh yes, got it. Smile

I guess you might clock 330 miles driving the bike on a roller whilst measuring/testing the battery and electrical systems as he claims. But what college spends so much on a brand new R1 just to do the basics like that? :/

And would anyone who was in any way connected with the education system, spell like this:

"collage for training perposes"

Story is probably easily enough verified.

Have a look at the manufacturing dates on the tyres to check that they're 2003.

Pricing is a tricky one on that. It's high for the year, low for the mileage.

It's still 13 12 years old, you'll want to have a good look inside the tank.

One thing I'll guarantee is that if you get bored and try and punt it on in a few months that you'll have a hard time finding many buyers who will pay anything near that price for it.

The main question is why?

I can understand showing kids battery charging on a Honda cub or something but an R1 with delivery mileage.....WHY! Confused

possibly but probably not ... no big job anyway ... hard squeeze on the lever and how much travel will give an indication...

if the tires are original then I would replace.

Possibly the marketing budget.

You could pay more to some Nathan Barley to dream up a spacktarded FaceTweet campaign to try and attract more students (i.e. their juicy funding) to your electro-spannering course.

With educational establishments, the funding they get is relative to what they have spent. If you had around 10k left at the end of the year, you'd want to spend it, why not buy the most attractive thing you can for "educational purposes"

Seen people buy 50 inch TV's, 10 or so projectors and various play equipment, even though its not needed Laughing

To get rid of naughy children?

'Today children we are going to start learning Newtons laws of Motion, starting with momentum. Who wants to try this experiment first? Ahh Billy. Well billy just hop on the teaching aid and twist that lever as hard as you can aim towards that tree way way over there in the distance, when you reach 120mph, stop turning the trottle and you will now be experiencing momentum. As we only have a short single period for this lesson we may as well touch on the subject of force. Can someone calcute the force bily wil lhit that tree at if he weighs 60kg and is travelling at 160 kph?

I'd have been smiling more staring at an R1 than an ER5.

Kids like sporty race looking things. Wink

I'm assuming this is a grey one located in Manchester? If it is, it's our kids college tutor. I didn't get the milage either, apparently it was used on a dyno although I have no idea if that's correct. Does seem silly low mileage but I don't think it was used on the road, ever.

You can get a 5VY or 4C8 R1 for THAT price! Mine's on 29000 miles and it still tracks corners with precision! Much prefer to get a used bike with FSH than a bike that's been sat around for more than a decade! Admittedly, that particular model was one of the prettier R1's before they went underseat. It started getting uglier on the cross plane 14B model.
