Why has it been rewired? Remapping it is as simple as plugging it into a laptop. I can't see why it would lose the map after the battery dies, that is pretty inconvenient even by KTMs standards. There are 3 maps that should always be there, standard, rain mode and race mode. Don't think you can add anymore and they get replaced when you flash the new map on. I think rain and race are just throttle sensitivity options to be honest.

I ran mine on the wrong map (Akrapovic slip on while on the standard pipe) for a bit and it caused no issues.

Curious as to how much you paid for a ringer of a 690, I've seen them still sell for £3k+ with blown engines and 20,000 mile on the frame.

I would highly suggest the KTM forum which is UK based also.

It was originally used for a race bike i think, and they rewired all the sensors, taking it back to the dealer today with new battery read and to be re mapped, so fingers crossed Thumbs Up this will be the end!!

So what is the actual issue???

Replace battery, keep on optimate when garaged, re-map with TuneECU and ride it.

£480, but still probably cheaper after all the labour they've put onto with no results. Laughing
