Helping my neighbors son change his front brake pads and chain and sprocket, chain and sprocket JT and DID straight forward but is it ok for a split link on the CBR?, and front pads kyoto GG or standard GG from Wemoto?.

Yes split link is fine there rated to 40 BHP

Kyoto ok but not very good cheap though

That is the accepted figure in the more responsible parts of the trade

Yes they will take the same power as the chain but are rather inclined to come off
I for one would not wish to explain to a court or worse still a coroner why I fitted a weaker link against the usual practice

A flying chain is extremely dangerous

No I fully agree, a badly maintained chain that comes flying off is dangerous. If possible, I'll use a solid link but in some instances, I'd use a split one.
