Not actually sure whether I'd rather be hit by a car (same speed as the video) or shot (with the aim of the average US policeman), I'm not sure either would end well!

That's not on and he was a danger to anybody who crossed his path.
The way he turned and looked back at the cops then swaggered off down the road like he was invincible.

I'd happily support all UK Police having guns, my sister is a copper and as things stand she gets a stab vest,
baton and some CS gas. Meanwhile the people she's often up against in the culturally 'enriched' to bursting
point hole that is Greenwich are armed to the teeth and completely fearless of the Police. It's not a level playing field.
I preferred the Police when they were a force not a 'service'.

I'm of the opinion that, if you go walking down the street firing off a gun and refuse the command of a police officer to lay down your gun and surrender, then the above course of action is fair game.

I think that was a good move from all points of view. He had to be stopped in case he hurt someone else or shot himself. Shooting him would work but mowing him down was less likely to be lethal.
