Just received an email from acutrac.

About time too, after many problems and the owner not getting back to me on several occasions, it's only good to see a two bob company go down.

It always felt like a fly by night company just by the way calls were handled via a reception and not direct to their offices.

I've spent quite alot of money on this company in the past few years on trackers and alarms, only one alarm install was any good, both trackers failed after a few months and the response was always slow and unprofessional.

They will no longer support tracking but you can put your own simcard in the tracker to keep it going for alerts.

They sorted my acumen 3.1 out free of charge a few months back when it stopped talking to the keyfob. Is reasonable cat-scarer and child-deterrent. Struck me as a company wiling to stand by their products and not mess me around on proving where I got it from and suchlike.

Undercut massively by chinese tat in the cat scarer segment, the alarmed disklock has been massively disruptive, modern bikes have immobilisers sufficient to tick the boxes for insurers and trackers either get ripped out or serve to frustrate an insurance claim.

This is what happens when your market evaporates.

Their pricing made no sense what so ever. You get two types of tracker:

High purchase cost and subscription where a man at the end of a phone calls you when your tracker is moved

or

The low purchase cost where you pay for the text that alerts you when your tracker is moved and you have to chase and fetch it.

Accutrac charged sky high rates for texts you had to pay for.
