Advice on Euro Trip

Hi Everyone,

New member here looking for advice(mainly on Italian cops).

I'm hoping to do my first big(ish) trip from Ireland down to Salerno, Italy in July to visit some friends(On the Hayabusa). Stopping off in Portsmouth to visit family on the way. Rough itinerary so far is:

5 Days => Cork,IRL-Rosslare-Pembroke-Portsmouth-Folkstone-Calais-Nancy-Grimsel Pass-Airolo-Florence-Salerno,ITA
5 Days => R&R in Salerno with some spins around.
5 Days => Salerno-Pisa-Geneva-Saint Quentin-Calais-Folkstone-Portsmouth-Pembroke-Rosslare-Cork.

My main concern is from some advice offered elsewhere that Italian police are tough on bikes with aftermarket equipment on, such as loud exhausts. I have two aluminium Carbon Can Co exhausts on the Busa. And I don't have the originals. They can be quite loud if I'm honest. Is this a big problem? Does anyone have experience of the Italian police?

Any advice would be appreciated guys. And any advice on places to visit on the way would be great.
I just reckon if I don't start travelling now I'll never do it. Time to start living and all that.

I went with a lazer race can and had no problems. Saying that it was a few years back and i never ride at night or any major city's. I was just playing up north. Dont take the piss or give them an excuse to stop you and you will be fine. If its a lights on country then just do it. I had a problem with my charging once in France and could not ride with the lights on. Got stopped by every plod on the way home. No charge's but had to enplane my problem. They were happy enough to let me ride home.

I haven't got masses of experience of riding in Italy but the times I've been there I've had no grief and seen no sign of other riders getting any. Like anywhere else, stick to limits in town and apply a bit of common sense when going for it out of town. Most Italians love bikes.
