I imagine that the obstruction it creates to airflow would do a pretty good job of restricting it.

I read an article a couple of years back citation needed about an electric supercharger that actually worked in a car. However, it was many-many dollah, and relied on a big, heavy dedicated battery to spin it up, that recharged slowly.

Plugging one straight into your electrical system and hoping for something for nothing is like those 'run your car on water!!! teh secrat big oil is try 2 supress!!!11!!' mental-vids.

I bought one off eBay a few years ago for about £8, but I wanted it for use with a solar panel for a ventilation job at my place in Spain - which it does quite well.

I could have used a cheaper PC fan, but this one had just the right size inlet to connect to existing ducting.

I can't imagine it would do much good as a super-charger though, because it isn't capable of compressing air.
