Hi guys.

I've planned that in a week - week and a half to tour a bit through Europe.
Plan is to go to my home country - Romania (fast, max 2 days spent to go there) stay there 4-5 days and then when coming back to ride ... I was thinking for 5-6 days in Austria and Germany. Maybe go to Belgium and Holland.
I will be needing tax road for Austria and Hungary.
This is the road to Romania - https://goo.gl/PVijcR
This is return - https://goo.gl/lcAMVS
I'm 26. Don't care that much about comfort Smile. Just riding.
Advices and questions - hit me Very Happy.

Two days to get there. Google says 27 hours. Lets say its correct. You need to ride 13.5 hours non stop. Fuel, piss, food, Stretch legs, whatever. Nah. That does not sound like fun. Your return is almost 7 hours a day riding. Very doable but remember crossing over a pass will not be fast. If you can do 70 miles on a main road in an hour you can well half that mileage climbing a pass.

You will never get to Romania in two days. You won't even do it in three.

Hell, it took me 27 hours to get from Mammia to Zagreb with a short stop at Otopeni airport.

I took two days just to get to Innsbruck from Le Havre. It was pissing down and my first jolly on a bike in Europe. Even now i dont do many more than 200-250 a day. Im on holiday to enjoy my surroundings and take in the sights as well as getting to my destination.

Agree with the above.

I do a lot of long distances touring and I find 300 miles a day about the maximum before my mind starts wandering and my bum starts to reject me and that's on a big comfy touring bike.

I've done further in a day a few times when necessary but it wasn't ever much fun.

Agree with that Thumbs Up

Maybe as I get older I can't hold my concentration like I used to but 300 miles was enough for me too, on a Pan. You don't mention what bike you intend to do this on?

Around 200 miles a day is nice. Don't have to rush and gives you the opportunity to get off the bike and wander around interesting places, take some photos, relax and eat lunch. You will find that doing one long day after another the fatigue gets worse each day and it's hard to get enough rest.

I like the idea Thumbs Up (not saying it's possible)

Doesn't sound like you have to make it there in 2 days, so no pressure anyway right? But this guy did 1000miles in 24hrs and he was 89 https://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2011/10/1000_miles_on_motorcycle_in_a.html. But after skim reading it was in the states where the going might be easier. Oh and also it seems to be on some luxury 3-wheeler.. stillll. He also did 1500 miles in 36hrs, which is about your aim.

What bike are you doing it on (please say some achy breaky sports bike thing)? Only advice at the min is to get a massive feck off breakfast. Oh and you might need another holiday after this one for recovery Very Happy

@smallfrowne I've read that article. It's sick.

Tnx for replaying guys.
This is how I see it: my manager said you've got 2 weeks off - go crazy Very Happy
My plan is to go to Romania. Meet friends, have fun, travel a bit there too with car.
Then when I return to UK I'll have a proper road trip with 200-300 miles/ day stops and everything.
I'm at my 4-th CBR F3, runs well for it's age . I done max a ~ 550 miles per day with stops and everything on my last big trip.
Anyway if it takes more when going that's it.
It's gonna be my first trip to Romania by bike and couple tips would be helpful.
Things to avoid, things to look after ?

One tip. Dont run out of fuel. There is plenty garages but you never know. If your tank does, say 150 miles start looking for a garage at 110. I get 175/180 to a tank an i start thinking fuel every 120.

Depends on your age, fitness, seat and general insanity level. I do London to Geneva in one go (620 miles) in a day at least once a year and it f@cking hurts. My arse suffer an extraordinary amount of pain - about the same as breaking a bone.

Back in my youth, I did this kinda trip on a sports bike for fun and ignored the pain. I was a psycho lunatic which helped.

Strong recommendation is to buy a touring seat. Am fed up with excruciating butt pain (my younger self would laugh at me, now) and I want a fairing. Also, a bike with serious top speed helps. Sitting at 130mph for 1 hour is a helluva lot less tiring than 65mph for 2 hours as long as you're OK about the increased risk of death and imprisonment.

2 days wouldn't be too much of a problem if you are committed and able to keep aware.
Doing distances as the norm will help.

Some of the bigger days i've done and all these separate trips have all been done in under 24hrs, berlin, prague, monaco, piza.

I'd suggest doing 8-900 miles the first day and 500 the next.
