44mph It was scarier than 160 on a motorbike. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.

Probably 35 for me, don't really go on hilly rides and not got the bike for it really (GT Aggressor with road tyres). I prefer going fast on a motorbike, feels safer ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

43 mph on an old Saracen MTB. I would have full kit on if I was doing this on my motorbike, but baggy shorts and fingerless gloves will save me on the MTB.... ____________________

Just checked VeloViewer, and it's telling me 57.3mph. I can't remember this specifically, but I do very well remember the hill.
Can't be right though.
Next down the list is 43.4mph, which I absolutely do remember, I was trying to catch breath and yell at a car to get out of the way! |

47mph on the roadie down a long hill with a tailwind and giving it beans.
42mph on the enduro down a very very fast, rocky bridleway. Again giving it beans. Both were on strava using my iphone, so I'd want to retry those runs with a garmin just for increased sensitivity and accuracy ____________________ The Tot 2007 Yamaha R1 4C8 2002 Yamaha FZS1000 Fazer &

One of my local routes has a hill that's good for 45+mph np with brave individuals managing 50+ on strava
The best local descent sadly has a set of traffic lights 3/4 the way down ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

54mph according to the Cateye computer on my Ribble 7005 Audax bike, 65mph on my old Raleigh Winner when I was about 14 or 15 down a local 1:4 hill, although I suspect the Halfords speedo mat have been optomistic.
Only 37mph on my new Cannondale CAAD10 according to the Runtastic cycling app on my iPhone, but them I am 46 |

A whopping 30mph down a hill in France, double my usual cycling speed. Watch out, Donald Campbell... ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

I managed 31 on my roadie (a shit Carerra Virtuoso) before a bee decided to hit me in the face, get stuck in my helmet and spaz out
Still, 31mph on the flat is fairly respectable considering I'm unfit as fuck, obese as fuck and very lazy. |

About 570mph but I'm doubtful whether a Boeing 777 should figure in this thread ____________________ Make mine a Corona. |

Broke the 50mph* barrier according to Strava. This was on the flat and would have been quicker if the skip lorry I was drafting was a bit keener to get going. I'd upload the footage but all you'd have is 2:12 of a number plate.
Also means I am no. 2 time holder for that stretch of road of all time - so someone found a keener truck.
*according to Strava. I am aware it is not a precise science. ____________________ My fingers smell of your mum. |
