Anyone buying it for the PC?

I bought it for the PS3 and played it for several months before getting bored but this time, we have it in glorious 4k (if you have the readies), hiests, 1st person mode and larger multi player games.

What I'm most excited about, is what the modding community is going to do with this. After 6 months, this could have some of the best community driven content any game has ever seen.

They did some insane mods for GTA IV and made the best of a bad port but now Rockstar have put time and effort in to this version, it's going to be worth playing all over again.

I keep buying PC games meaning to play them, but I don't. I'm rubbish at games now.

I know what you mean and I've also lost all interest in them too. I bought GTA V for the PS3 at launch in Oct 2013.

Then I think the game after that was around December 2014, which was Watchdogs to play MP with my bro... spent 1 hour on it and fucked it off.

Then I bought Advanced Warfare at launch too, whenever that was, played it for about 10 hours and fucked that off.

I just don't have time to play games as much these days and I can never find something that I can get in to. GTA will be decent on the PC, the type of game I can pick up for an hour and piss about, then leave it... rinse, repeat and so on.

SHIT thanks for reminding me! Today is the last day to buy on Steam and get 1.2 million bonus dosh for the game.

I am sure this game will have a hell of a long lifespan with all the mods and shiz. I still play GTA IV thanks to the LCPDFR mod. I held off getting the 360 version for this very reason.

That 1.2 million is deceiving... it's $700,000 for Single player and $500,000 for online. I'm not really arsed about SP.

I actually enjoyed the fact that money was hard to build up in GTA5. Giving players all that cash right at the start of the game would spoil it imo. But anyway, i have it for the PS3 but can't wait to test it on my gaming pc Thumbs Up

Me, but i'm pirating it until it's cheap on g2a.com. Fuck paying a company that has taken this long to port a game. Also £40 for a game is absolutely rediculous and it's something you only ever see with console ports. GTA 4 also runs like shit, so i dont want to waste my money. I'm getting 40 fps with drops to below 30 on a 7970 on medium settings, which takes the piss to be honest. Guess it's still better than what you would get on a console though Laughing
My brother has a 2k monitor so i'm interested in seing what it looks like downsampled from 4k, if this one actually run well that is. Honestly though the game doesnt look all that good from the screenshots.

I've never got with keyboards and games so I'll have to use my 360 pad, however the controls will likely be too fucked to bother Laughing

It'll likely just be plug and play with a 360 controller, most of not all new games that come out on console as well as PC are these days

I prefer keyboard/mouse controls as I find they are a lot more responsive/accurate than control pads, mind you I do have the xbox 360 controller for the PC too..... and a PS3 (which I guess I could use the controller on the PC).

I've never understood these people who say they can't use 1 controller or the other because [insert excuse here].... but then I have had quite a few consoles and computers over the years

I used a 360 controller for GTA 4 up until a week ago when i decided to try keyboard/ mouse and it's so much better. Controlls no longer feel restricted and i can move the camera around much easier than with the controller. Only time it sucks is you loose the throttle control, but it's not like gta is a driving sim. I expect GTA V will be the same way.

I can see why people would prefer to use controller one over the other. If you try to play a side scroller using the 360's terrible dpad it's almost impossible. I pretty much never use a controller other than for driving games though since their terrible compared to a keyboard and mouse usually.

Strangely enough that's why I bought the controller in the first place (and bought the game when it was just released on the PC.... one of the very few times I've actually splashed out full price on a PC game)

I bought mine for the same reason, since xbox didnt release a wireless adapter for the pc that didnt suck Rolling Eyes
I paid close to full price for it on the 360 too, but i couldnt stand to play the game on it. The game just had a strange blured image that i hated. Once i got the game on PC a few years later i realised it was because they included a blur filter to make it run somewhat close to 30fps on console Laughing

360 controller for driving, mouse & keyboard for running around and pwning, simples.

Depends what's going on, if it's a last man standing event, it's mouse + keyboard all the way for first person aiming with the mouse., etc.

What's the problem with £40 for a game on launch? It's not exactly a lot of money for something that's going to entertain you for 100+ hours.

It just seems wrong to me and i'm not paying without knowing if it's going to run as bad as the last game either. Games always used to be £30 on launch, which is a fair deal.
I dont see why i should support a company that puts PC gamers last either. It's using Denuvo DRM anyway, so i will probably wait until it's a reasonable price.

You sound just like a guy I know who has justified ("obtaining it legitimately" -Ed.) because he wants to send a message that he doesn't think it's fair to have a staggered release like that. When I asked him how Rockstar games are supposed to read his mind and tell him apart from all the people who just don't like paying for games, he said this was how to make his stand.

Because staggered releases are a stupid idea, especially when the best platform gets it last Laughing I usually buy the games i pirate anyway once i know their good. I'm definitely not buying it without knowing if it runs properly anyway. £40 is pretty much my entire gaming budget for 6 months and i would rather buy a game like Pillars of Eternity which supports my platform, than give it to a company that thinks PC gaming is something that should only be included once consoles have had their fill.
Anyway it's going to take forever to crack the game with the DRM it has.

Take away the multi-player part, what games these days last 100+ hours?

Or are you talking about online gaming or replaying the same game over again?

the last properly long game I played was the trilogy known as the HL2 franchise - I always play them back to back as a single game.

after that the longest console game is maybe 15 hours for a single play through. heck me and a buddy co-oped through killzone 3 in less than 7 hours, that was a single sitting.

things should start to change on the porting side of thing now. with the new gen consoles running a 32bit architecture porting should be easier meaning that less development needed between platforms - in theory at least

Looks good, but why is everything thats not 20m infront of the player look completely washed out and dark? Hopefully it's just the angles in the trailer.

Bought on release for Xbox 360... Played for quite a while.... Disappointed that Rockstar didn't keep their promises that they would have heists etc ready for release of GTA:O

I still pre-ordered on PC again, as soon as it was released on Steam, Oh pre purchase now and receive bonus, fine... why not!

*Delayed*

PRE PURCHASE NOW AND STILL RECEIVE BONUS

*Delayed again*

Bonus is still here if you pre purchase, even now, 2 months later! - Oh and get a little extra too!

Yeah.... Rockstar have never been good with keeping their story straight.

Sort of annoying as grinding missions on GTA Online to get money for that big bad ass apartment and decent cars for your garage... Now it's all just gonna be handed to people Rolling Eyes

I'll still be transferring my Xbox GTA Online character across to the PC version, Screw leveling that up again.
