Here's an alternative spin. These kids are refugees from a war zone. They have been offered refugee status in Britain because we are a civilised country and that is what we do, gawd bless us. They get bullied because they are Syrian and somebody watches too many Yaxley Lennon videos. Somebody posts a video and the response is overwhelmingly sympathetic, so it goes viral and the media pick up on it. Somebody has the bright idea of raising some money for the kids to improve their lives, and so on and so on....


Whilst I agree that if taken as a snapshot, what happens in that video is nothing that doesn't happen to millions of kids every day, but that ignores the bigger picture in that that we are supposed to be the good guys here. In reality, what is wrong with a civilised nation helping two refugees?

I know there was a very well publicised case recently where an adult passed himself off as school age, and that was very wrong. Does this mean that the vast majority of refugee 'kids' are in fact eastern-european adults, and should be treated as such unless they can prove otherwise?

It probably won't surprise you given my leftie, snowflake, virtue-signalling bent that I know a family that have taken in a Syrian refugee child. I have met said child on numerous occasions, and can say with confidence that he isn't a 30 year old eastern european man posing as a kid. Perhaps I am blind or he is an exception.
