Guns? Deary me, no.

"While we have obligations to genuine asylum seekers... we will not stand by and allow reckless criminals to take advantage of some of the most vulnerable people in our global society," he (Javid) added.
Currently, only one of the Border Force's fleet of five cutters - specialist boats which the force describes as being capable of rescuing several migrant boats at the same time - is currently operational in the Dover Strait.
Dover MP Charlie Elphicke has repeated calls for Border Force cutters to be called back from search-and-rescue operations in the Mediterranean to patrol the Channel.

Exactly.

Fuck all, other than assisting them to the UK with an expanded taxi service. Typical of this government lately, much like May on Brexit, talk all the right words but don't actually follow it up with anything like what the sound bite says.

Sounds just like what you do, talk a good talk, but nothing else.

I didn't, no. Is this another story from your local Gin Palace?

If we want to stop the flow, we have to make it unappealing to enter this country illegally. We can't tow them back to France or France will open the floodgates. We need to do similar to what Australia did to cure their boat migrant issue.

We need to introduce ID cards, like the rest of Europe, remove benefits, start repatriating and deporting all the chancers, not just one or two and hold them on some remote shithole island until processed or removed.

As an added bonus, we could offer all the "Refugees Welcome" brigade from Surrey to volunteer on the Island to provide some forced jiggy jiggy fun to keep them happy. Thumbs Up

Hold on a sec...Diggs was agreeing with me, he knows I'm right Smile

If you read the news it's all about how the poor lambs are being cast adrift in the world's scariest shipping lanes by people smugglers, and how we must tackle those criminals. The illegal immigrants are just victims according to the narrative. Our "gunboats" are just ferries. We might as well fly them in first class from their chosen location.

According to Val's link we have been swamped with alarmist stories yet;
Quote:
a few days before Christmas, the head of the German employers’ group said four in 10 of those arriving since 2015 had landed apprenticeships or jobs. He called them a “pillar” of the economy,https://inews.co.uk/opinion/why-the-migrant-crisis-in--channel-is-no-such-thing/

-said an unnamed spokesperson. In 3 years only 40% have integrated into the workforce.

Quote:
Yet while May and Javid pretend they can stop flows of human beings, there are signs of sea-change in attitudes among voters. Yes, a majority still believe there too many immigrants in the country – but it has fallen over the past two years to historically low levels.

I've also seen The Guardian trumpeting the news that no one cares about immigration anymore. The truth is people have noted that polling questions are loaded. Asked whether they are concerned about immigration they know the pollster's pen is hovering over the 'Racist' tick box.

Sorry, no. You'll be beheading them on the beach next. Not very British.

What we need to do is show them there is absolutely no point in coming here unannounced. Send them straight back to the war-torn shores of, er... France, like the French should have done when they crossed their own border. Just a few tax-payer funded return trips and they won't bother again. Let's be sure to give them asylum/immigration application forms and a free pen as they depart though, just to be fair.

If I get my way, 20mm shells will be beheading them before they get anywhere near a beach Laughing

My drive against the immigrant tide won't stop until I reach the Med Thumbs Up

More Border Force boats to patrol Channel

Two UK Border Force boats will return from abroad to patrol the Channel in response to recent migrant crossings, says the home secretary.
