Is that the 'official' line?
Funny that you'll believe the line from another country where you have absolutely no idea of what goes on, yet don't believe the same from your own.
Funny that. ____________________ Mpd72: I can categorically say i’m Brighter than that, no matter how I come across on here.

If every single one of them lied about being a child, then yes It's still a high percentage of men and the demographic point still applies. |

Oh, so definitely 82% then. |
In truth, percentages of young adult males, women, children, old people, goats, whatever, isn't really the point anymore for me. When a significant proportion of a nation's population could reasonably claim asylum seeker status due to war, government or religious or whatever persecution, should other countries still take them all in? Where do you draw the line? AFAIK Britain at least used to (not sure if they still do) offer asylum to anyone from a war torn country. It sounds great doesn't it, except for when I was growing up the group you really had to watch out for were Somalians (or Somalis whatever the correct term is). Before I'm accused of being raciss, they always seemed to be more violent, and always seemed more willing to stab people.
A Somalian guy I knew explained it to me, that they were coming from a war torn country, had experienced some horrible shit, and genuinely didn't care if they lived or died, or more to the point didn't care whether you lived or died. Obviously I've met nice Somalis but that doesn't change the fact me and my mates very nearly met a violent end at the hands of people we cheerfully let in. |

I'm not arguing that it isn't the case that these "asylum seekers" very often do seem to be young adult males who are not exactly always going to be the most humble and law-abiding types, either desensitised by experience, or just plain extremist in outlook, and I agree with your concerns on the matter. But really, what when many millions could legitimately claim to be seeking asylum under current criteria of definition, peaceful in intent or otherwise? ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I would if it was a few people from here and there, now and again. But the sheer potential scale of it is just too much. Syria, Libya, Yemen, various countries of the African continent...surely it makes more sense to try to solve the problems they're fleeing from, in their own countries?
Yes, I know, what when you can't solve those problems? Oh well, just offer a welcome to whole populations elsewhere. Nope, sorry, I can't support that view. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Wealth inequality? The problem is you can work your arse off and only just survive in a shack in most of those countries, where here you can sit on your arse and do nothing, yet live a far superior existence, with everything provided to you for free, courtesy of those who do work.
They see the UK and countries like Germany as lands of milk and honey where everything is given to you for free. They're largely correct as Germany has found out. Many have no intention of working because they're quite happy with the standard of living for doing sweet FA. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

I daresay a large proportion of them are economic migrants, and a good proportion of those are potential scroungers. But I wasn't really talking about them. Even if you only considered those who actually had reason to flee their own countries because of war and persecution, it'd still be a massive problem to accommodate them elsewhere. You can't just go on doing so year after year, even supposedly wealthy countries.
As for us in the UK, I said it elsewhere: we must base who we let in on our needs, not theirs. I think it is time for a hiatus in accepting any genuine asylum seekers even, until we can sort some of our own problems, and with Brexit looming, we are constantly told it'll be us in need of hand-outs soon. In fact, many of us already are. How can people already on their knees help others? ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

That's the problem though. None of those claiming asylum in the UK are genuine asylum seekers, unless France is in a state of war. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

Well that's the thing, we're basically hastening our decline, unless you're one of these people who think a country can sustain an indefinite amount of people.
I guess the pro-migration side are fine with this, reducing our quality of life so another group can have a better one, or rather more worryingly they think we deserve to eventually become a third world country. |

And another 8 Gimmedats caught walking up the road 3.5 miles from where they landed.

247 "Iranians" (read young fighting age, Muslim men of Middle Eastern appearance), in the last 5 weeks caught, so how many thousands of unknown illegal immigrants have made it to Eldorado? Enough for a small ISIS army? ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.
