https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/we-cant-stay-here-migrants-in-france-undeterred-from-channel-crossing-despite-deadly-tragedy/ar-AA15kANA

Quote:
Amelie Moyart, a field co-ordinator for Utopia5 said, “They can’t stay in the North of France outside in this cold, so they are going to try [for] the UK anyway.”

One man who fled Pakistan said he was sleeping outside in bitterly cold conditions with his family. He said he will keep trying to cross the Channel - despite previous failed attempts and the dangers it poses. “I’ve known for the whole four months I’ve been here that I can’t stay in Calais. The conditions are too awful. My wife is pregnant and we have a child. We are sleeping outside in the mud. I’ll keep trying to make the crossing despite the risks.”

Clare Mosely, who runs the Care4Calais charity, said migrants have been falling ill with diseases like scabies in recent weeks, as they struggle with a lack of sanitation in the winter weather.

At the same time, police are continuing to evict camps, taking tents and sleeping bags away despite temperatures hovering around freezing point.

Teams from Utopia56 work on beaches along the French coast to give advice to migrants about the make the perilous journey - as well as meeting those who return wet and freezing after failed attempts.

Why aren’t these liberals criticising the way the EU treats illegal immigrants? It’s mud, disease, police persecution and hopelessness for them on that side of The Channel, but free hotels and expenses over here. We have nothing to be ashamed of in terms of how we treat people.

Quote:
Some 12,000 asylum seekers to the UK are to be considered for refugee status without face-to-face interviews.

A 10-page Home Office questionnaire will decide the cases of people from Afghanistan, Eritrea, Libya, Syria and Yemen who applied before last July.

The move aims to reduce the asylum backlog which Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has pledged to end this year.

The Home Office says this is not an asylum amnesty - but it will streamline the system for five nationalities.

Applicants from these countries already have 95% of their asylum claims accepted, says the Home Office.

The usual security and criminal checks will still be conducted and biometrics taken, but, for the first time, there will be no face-to-face interviews, say officials.

Instead, eligible asylum seekers must fill out a form and answer up to 40 questions.

The questionnaire must be completed in English and returned within 20 working days, or the Home Office may consider the asylum application has been withdrawn.

So any immigrant can just drive a bus through our border, subject to being able to lie about where they've come from and fill out a form in basic English?

Sounds legit.

It's money talking. Cheap and cheerful immigration. When Labour get in I doubt they will even have to fill a form out.

Didn't really know where to drop this one. Could have gone in about 4 threads.

This popped up in my news feed.

https://www.essexlive.news/news/essex-news/father-walthamstow-son-jailed-brutal-8088454

Quote:
A father and son who brutally robbed and murdered a man have been jailed for a combined total of nearly 50 years. Ernesto Elliott, 45, of Parquier Road, and Nico Elliott, 23, of Walthamstow, were found guilty by a jury after a trial at the Old Bailey.

The court heard the father and son were involved in the fatal stabbing of 35-year-old Nathaniel Eyewu-Ago, who chased them to Barge Walk on June 2 last year, after they robbed drugs and cash from him. As the incident took place in the middle of the day, there were a number of witnesses, including an off-duty police officer, PC Luke Dowling, who called 999.

Wondered if it was a first offence so a quick Google revealed:

Quote:
Ernesto Elliot, originally from Jamaica, was due to board a flight back to his country of origin in December 2020, but a series of challenges stopped the flight.

Elliot and his son Nico went on to murder 35-year-old Nathaniel Eyewu-Ago in south east London after they robbed drugs and cash from him months later in June 2021.

Gee, thanks do-gooders, thanks a bunch.

Sounds like they ripped off a drug dealer and then stabbed him up when he chased after them.
Interesting that being a criminal is now more dangerous because of all the extra criminals.....

Rishi Sunak vows to end asylum claims from small boat arrivals

Quote:
Anyone coming to the UK on a small boat will be removed to Rwanda or another country, under new laws.

Quite. Amnesty in all but official name a week or so ago, but don't worry he's gonna come down hard on them.

Sure thing. As if he GAF anyway, in no time at all he'll be off to live in the states and leave us with this absolute state.

Im beginning to think the whole migrant "crisis" is all about setting up the Tories with another get fixed quick policy roll out ahead of the next election. It wont matter what other issues the country faces as soon as the election run up starts lots of cheap get-brexit-done style policies will be rolled out and the hysteria around 'migrants will be at such fever pitch the Tories will get back in. Of course afterwards people will still be in badly paid s#1t jobs, s#1t housing with knackered public services, collapsing infrastructure and feeling cheated. The best thing to do is find a way of emigrating.

It used to be Oz or NZ but Covid was a bit of an eye-opener.

With regards to the swashbucklers it would take a photo-op of Richie Nutsack and James Hurrell* on the front a patrol boat to bring back popular support now.

Im too old to go anywhere. I've advised the youthful members of my family to learn modern European languages in order they can escape in the event Scotland goes independent though.

Earlier today GB News did a piece on Rwanda and it looks great so maybe give it a shot.

I wonder what is so wrong with Europe that they are so desperate to leave and at such cost? Surely this country is such a shot hole no one would want to come here. Europe is supposed to be the Utopia that we were so foolish to want to leave.

I'm all for sinking the fuckers at sea as soon as they leave french waters.

Ive noticed these immigrants all seem quite trim so wondered.

Immigrants cost 1.3Bn

https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/news/2022/09/28/its-costing-you-billions#:~:text=Our%20analysis%20of%20new%20data,and%20our%20press%20release%20here).

Obeseirati cost 6 Bn

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-obesity-treatments-and-technology-to-save-the-nhs-billions#:~:text=Obesity%20costs%20the%20NHS%20a,spent%20on%20key%20frontline%20services.

Maybe we should send our obese people to the countries the migrants come from and get a 4.7 Bn dividend Laughing

The BBCs list of nationalities that seek to come here was telling.

Albania aside (just) - the rest were places we have bombed along with our US masters. Or otherwise stoked unrest by supplying arms to terrorist groups.

Seems the best way to reduce the flow of refugees is to take a good look at our foreign policy. Maybe increase our overseas aid and reduce our overseas arms dealings.

These poor people coming here are the 'result' of the problem not the cause of it.

Just listened to Sir Ken Clarke say that this is a global issue with 50 million people displaced by wars and conflicts. He went on to say that if he was a young person living in West Africa he'd be planning on coming to the uk to have a better life in future.
Then added the Americans, the French and the Germans have far bigger problem than we do and they aren't good at solving it either.

Latest Top Asylum Destinations for Europe (and uk) are as follows:

Germany 148,165
France 103,780
Spain 62,055
UK 58,532
Italy 45,195
Austria 35,805
Then say the uk does deport 10s of thousands it would beg the question which country has the capacity and infrastructure to accommodate them?

The deterrent effect used in Australia can't work (unless refugees are placed on surrounding islands).

First and foremost treat these people with compassion and empathy. Human trafficking needs to stop.
Human rights must remain a fundamental.

Unprecedented migration problems as mentioned are in the hands of sociopaths and those that profit.

Creating fear and division with OTT language either by Braverman or Lineker isn't required as it never helps.
