I think it’s resentment that whilst the country elected what they thought was a Conservative government with what ought to have been a powerful 80-seat majority it turned out to be anything but. Some were Lib-Dems sheltering from that disgraced identity, others were previous no-hopers benefitting from gender/ethnicity-biased candidate short lists, then there were the one-term grifters and the rest were too afraid to respond to the MSM’s self-assigned official opposition.

You’ve heard them all. Laughing Surely the right wing needs a similarly broad range of creative genres? Pass the popcorn

Oh christ, they'll have a fucking meltdown if we did that. All the whining over Gammon shows that they really can't take what they insist on giving out.

They clearly don have the strength of will of us leftie, woke, libtard snowflakes.

‘Woke’ is virtue-signalling, wanting to be seen to be especially caring while ignoring the undesirable consequences of being overly liberal.

Even as a tory I'm pissed off with them BUT........

Can you imagine the absolute fuck up there would have been with Labour if they had to navigate Brexit, covid, Ukraine, migrants, cost of living crisis and whatever even before they have saved the Nhs by giving nurses, doctors and everyone else a huge pay rise?

Labour are going to be the next government and they are going to be fucked before they start simply because the magic money tree they rely on after a tory government wont exist.

Still, being a pensioner I should now vote labour as all I am interested is that may pension increases. Thumbs Up

I would imagine something rather different. That's the point of imagination its personal and subject to an individuals preconceptions. If we stick to the historical facts though the last forty three years had been dominated politically and economically by the right. So we dont really need to "imagine" who's to blame unless you want invent a fictitious culprit.

The British political system is stagnant. The rot arguably set in with the end of WWII. Giving up the Empire gave way to what Douglas Adams described as "The Shoe Event Horizon." Instead of looking outward Britain was reduced to smaller things - everyone shuffling awkwardly and looking at their feet - especially after Suez.

I hate to say it but the closest we got to extricating ourselves out of the mire would have been with Corbyn. Bat-shit crazy yes, but so many systems would have been smashed it would have lent freedom to whomever came after to try some new ideas.

<edit> Thinking on it, probably not. The "Deep Administrative State" would have put roadblocks on anything clever the same way Trump was stifled in the US Sad

I don't agree with that assessment. I think your better looking be at the running down of industrial capacity in favour of monetisation policies. Neo lib stuff. The cold war and its proxie wars didnt help either, all those bonkers regimes across ex European colonies propped up based on simplistic assessment of whether they were with us or the commies. It's happening again now. Are there opportunities though, there might be ad don't forget in the immediate decades after ww2 there was enormous growth in general affluence.
