bike before last gave me back ache

one after that gave pins and needles to the wrists, but no back ache

this current one has a tingle in the, ahem, seat area, not good but can probably do something about getting the seat rebuilt with a tad more padding, but no back or wrist issues.

It used to but I've now been riding it for 6 years, the achey bits have either become numb to the pain or got used to the position.

It used to give me no pain but since I took apart the front end and put it back together, I get a slight pain in one side of my back. No idea why. Just bought a standard sized seat instead of a lowered one to see if it makes my positioning any better now

The thing is, we're all different shapes and sizes and bikes come
in 'one size fits all' which they obviously cant without mods.
I fitted out mine to suit me in a practical 'sit up and beg' hackabout uncool fashion
and so its no more uncomfortable than sitting in say an office chair
for extended periods.

those hornets seem quite crouched to me when i've sat on them in showrooms - like the bike though, that's why i was interested but then i'm quite tall. ever tried sitting on a hayabusa, there was a huge guy nearby who had one, how he found that i don't know but to him speed was the drug.

Left knee gives me gip after about an hour, worse if I have a pillion and less room to move about. The armour
in my leathers doesn't help. Just bought some of those Knox pull on knee armour, not had a chance to try them
out on the bike yet but they are comfy just trying them on so fingers crossed.

Yeah i just sorta bought the bike as my first as I liked it and came recommended. Didnt really think about comfort at the time but I am now and for my next one.

I sat on a Panigale at the MCN show and it was the most uncomfortable thing I ever did... instant pain and it wasnt even moving. Now I know i can never have the bike i like the most!

I don't get issues once I have the bike for any length of time, but whenever I get a new bike I get hip cramp for a day or two.

Left knee - if I ride with my knees into the tank, then my feet aren't parallel with them. There's something sticking out on the left side that means I can't get my foot as close in which means my knee twists a bit and I end up sitting lopsided on the bike. Doesn't bode well for touring Sad And it's supposed to be a bloody tourer, albeit a little one.

My CBR gave me a numb arse after about an hour, aching shoulders and a tired neck from trying to hold my head up in the wind from the crap screen. So I guess the F800 is an improvement on that!

I get the left knee thing and oddly sore elbows, the knee thing gets relieved regularly as the bike only has 100 mile range, "sports TOURER" my arse!

I can't seem to find the sweet spot on my CB500 and seems to give me wrist ache.
I am a lanky fucker but at a guess I would say it's more that I'm riding like a noob and pressing on the bars or something.

On my old bike I got slightly sore wrists when I had to filter 20 miles on the motorway but on my current bike, speed four with Renthal bars I can ride all day.
Get a bit of gip if I have to use the clutch a lot but the seat is really comfortable and the bars give you a more up right riding position which helps me.
Footpeg position is ideal for my short legs.
My old ybr was a pretty similar setup but my legs were a bit hunched up and I did suffer from a numb backside.
I think a good seat is key to being comfortable on long rides.

Every bike gives me jip although that's not the bike just my legs. Caused from bad muscles. All from a young age rheumatoid arthritis I was born with it. Sometimes I get a massive pain in my left leg. Normally when staying still for a about an hour.

However I've gotten used to it and don't over react when it does happen.

Not really, which is one reason I'm now on the 5th one of the same model. It just seems to fit me nicely. However, having just added a new back injury, and possibly aggravated the old ones, I'm wondering how things will be when I'm ready to try getting back on. Fingers crossed I'm ok, people have had worse.

Suzuki GS125 - Fantastically comfortable, only a numb bum after 3+ hours from sitting down too long.

Honda CBX250RS - Fantastically comfortable but the seat is filled with the worst foam ever that packs down after 30 minutes so the bum takes a battering, as it were. Also vibes, vibes everywhere.. Vibration white finger was common pre-Renthals.

Honda CB250 Two Fifty - Legs a bit crunched up, long trips can give me aching groin muscles from stopping my legs blowing wide apart in the wind. Tiresome.

Yamaha TRX850 - Very little leg room, a bit of pressure on the wrists/palms. Thought it was horrendous until I tried..

Suzuki SV650S - LOL no. No ty. Nuh uh. Everyone who owns one is mad.

Honda CBF125 - Attacked my wrists with incredible ferocity, something about how low the bars were and how straight my arms were to reach them. My dad was attacked by it in exactly the same way, but you never hear of it?

BMW K100RS - Attacks my knees after sitting on it for a few hours for some reason? Plenty of leg room, no idea why it should do this. My knees are otherwise in fine fettle, no problems with anything else.

In conclusion many give varying levels of gip but no idea why. And more leg room doesn't necessarily mean a more comfortable bike.

When I get my knee down I get muscle lock in my leg and have to stick it out fully extended while it uncramps after I exit the bend.

I did 420 miles on my Fireblade last Saturday. It was giving me a numb bum. But I don't do 400 miles in one day very often.

Surprised that the left knee thing is a thing, if I ride on the balls of my feet then it starts to ache in no time.
I spend a lot of my time at work on my hands and knees, goes with the territory when you do a lot of flooring
and plumbing etc. I wear knee pads nearly all the time when I'm working. Despite this, both knees are calloused pretty
much constantly and I honestly thought the hard life they get at work was to blame, before the building
work I drove a truck in London for 3 years which had a clutch pedal so heavy it was like a bit of gym
equipment, I always had that as the original source of my knee issues.

Another old achy knee'd fart here, although the problem seems to be far more emphasized by my leathers than my textiles or jeans.
Probably because there's a lot less give in the leathers I suppose, coupled with the fact that I don't have knee protection in my jeans (I know, I know) and the knee pads in my textiles are quite soft compared to the ones in my leathers.
I've read somewhere those D30 pads are quite soft, might swap 'em out.

I get 'vibration white finger', having a 400 thumper probably doesn't help with that… Hands go numb and I have to call it a day, some days are worse than others and the cold doesn't help.

The sides of my knees are thereabouts hairless where I grip the tank, I'm not sure if it's the lining of my leathers or the baselayer I wear if it's cold.Hairs grow back as an ingrowing mess.

I have a row of callouses at the base of my fingers, which nicely complement those on my fingertips from playing guitar/bass.

If I ride for too long my muscles pretty much turn to jelly and getting off the bike is tricky. That's likely a few tanks of fuel though.

Didn't have any issues on the YBR125 and don't have any problems on the CB500 - at least now that the seat has been recovered. Either that or both those bikes are the ideal riding 'shape' for someone my size.

Keeping warm amd being relaxed must be it - once i'm on the bike i haven't a care for anything else and I find that very relaxing.
