Akrapovic do a megaphone silencer for the zx10r, and it looks sweet. Not sure about zx6r but have a look. If you're going on track bare in mind the noise limit.

When I got my bike, to prep for track days I got r&g sliders all round, folding levers and Gilles rearsets. The adjustability on the rearsets is fantastic.

Personally I'd do that first and then cosmetic/performance stuff after. Although its never a waste of money, making a stock bike into your own machine, I'd prioritise protection and fit first! (Assuming you already have good gear)

So far I've only ordered a tail tidy, crash bungs and new levers. I'll wait for my funds to recover before a new exhaust.. although I'm leaning to a Scorpion GP exhaust at the moment.

Scorpion make great exhausts and you can get them from various UK stockists which is nice. Sounds like you're on the way though.

One of the best things you can get for track use is a set of good tyres. Road tyres are generally all weather and take longer to warm up, less gtippy under high lateral loads. A good set can give you the confidence yo get your knee down. Also, a few quid on a copy of "twist of the wrist 2" is a must. I got mine from iTunes, I think there's a YouTube video but I wanted to refer back to it.

Something I wish someone told me before I spent £65... A dark screen looks awesome but is a PIA to stare through on track.

Good luck!

Nice looking bike, but have Kawasaki been raiding Suzuki's 90's parts bin for the exhaust. I could probably of saved Chernobyl with the space inside that thing.

Seems to be quite popular in Auz and the states, but I think you'll need ear plugs when you ride it. I don't fancy that, so something more quiet for me I think.

+4.9 bhp
+8.1dB

Once my bike has been broken-in, I'll change the exhaust.

What do you think of the Scorpion then?

Is that one of the newest models? I'm not a fan I must say.
Probably a good bike but visually it doesn't tickle me.
I've always liked 2005 model, never had one.

Yeah.

I bought the ABS version ex-demo on a 14plate - only done 300miles and I got 28% off list price for that... plus free 600mile service and it was delivered!

I is happy!

Thought I give a little update... after getting back from a circuit of South Wales I have to say... I love my bike!

I got the link pipe in the end to eliminate the pre-chamber, which makes it louder but not stupidly loud!

Having a loud exhaust does wake up the SMIDY crowd!

Blagged a go on my makes Fireblade... awesome.. but you have to wrestle it much more than mine! Oh, and why are the seats on all Honda sport bikes smooth? I was sliding round like anything..

https://oi60.tinypic.com/m8h1fa.jpg[/list]

Oh, and which knob closed all the road around Bath!

Nice looking bike. Where was that photo taken?

I completely agree with you about Bath. I got stuck doing loops for about an hour trying to follow the diversions to get along the A36, bloody nightmare.

That photo is up in the Brecon Beacons.

Going north I went up to the M4 following the diversion... and I was trying to avoid as many motorways as possible.
Coming back I went down the A37, after stopping at my mates in Bristol, but the hedges had grown in front of the bloody road signs and I ended up near Wells! FFS. As you can imagine I didn't have a satnav, and had to memorise my route!

I'm really loving the Ninja... awesome bike, and the rising position isn't too bad either!
