Minecraft - Dinosaurs?

Hi All

Forgive my total lack of knowledge but my nephews (9/10) have asked me to get them the Minecraft Dinosaurs?

I've never experienced minecraft and from what I've read i'm not really interested.

i basically want to know how i get them the game - although from what i see it looks like a 'mod' which i supposed is restricted to the PC?

If such a thing existed on the 360 then that would be preferable.

Could someone give me some easy instructions / links as to how to set this all up and if its free or has costs associated?

Any help would be appreciated - done some google searching and still really none the wiser.

Havent played it for years now..

But a quick google returns the JurassiCraft mod

If you install something like Magic launcher, use it to launch the game and point it towards the file containing JurassiCraft, it will play the game in the dinosaur mod.

Installing mods on the the PC version is often as easy as dragging and dropping files into the correct folder, get it wrong and the game wont launch, easily fixed by removing the game from the computer and re-downloading it.

(Make a copy of the original files is also an option, whatever works best for you).

The xbox edition of the game is possibly not modable, any extras would be added to the xbox store and made available to purchase, but nothing to the extent of the PC.

I haven't followed xbox 360 mods since the day of the transfer cable and hex editor with COD 4 &. UFO Mode (the period where illegal character names and not being able to die was cool) but assume that a similar program would probably be needed in today's day and age to make mods available on the xbox (hence why there not as easily done).

TL;DR = PC Version is free to download and only requires an account purchase to play online, visit https://minecraft.net/ download it, swap some files over (with the help of a youtube video) and jobs a gooden.
