Yeah couldn't agree more...
I hate vloggers too but if you keep linking to their videos, they'll keep posting the fucking things. By giving them views, you're only feeding their superiority complex and desire to poke their video cameras into situations that are none of their business.
What should happen in that situation is if they send it to the police, the police should do the Learner for riding outwith the terms of their licence AND do the vlogger for driving without due care and attention. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. How much more dangerous is it than being on the crossbar of a bicycle, at those speeds?
I reckon it's slightly more dangerous; but only slightly.
OTOH my dad had on occasion to bring me to school bungeed to his back, on his 125, in the early 80s. No helmet then either. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

In a car, the driver is liable if a minor passenger is not wering a seatbelt and the passenger themself is responsible if they are an adult. Is it the same with a helmet?
Hmmm
Road traffic act 1988, section 16 para 4:
| Quote: | A person who drives or rides on a motor cycle in contravention of regulations under this section is guilty of an offence; but notwithstanding any enactment or rule of law no person other than the person actually committing the contravention is guilty of an offence by reason of the contravention unless the person actually committing the contravention is a child under the age of sixteen years. |
Ok. No offence here? States the under 16 year old is not comitting an offence but does not state who is and what.
I can find nothing else.
Is it actually an offence for a minor to be on a motorcycle without a helmet?
Anyone? Maybe it's never actually come up? |
I read that to mean that if a pillion child of less than 16 years is not wearing a helmet then the rider might be committing an offence but if the pillion is over 16 then it's their offence alone. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
