So I've got a Lenovo G580 that's been sitting gathering dust for quite some time due to a battery that wont charge, couldn't tell you what the symptoms it had just before it stopped working as it wasn't me using it, all I was told is that it wasn't charging, although was turning on and working fine.
I've tried;
(1) Laptop with charger plugged in and battery.
(2) Laptop with charger plugged in without battery.
Nothing, not a sign of life, no led's lighting up on the laptop to show signs off life, charger doesn't have any form of led's to show on or off.
There's a noise coming from the battery power block like a bird tweeting or a single tone of noise when plugged in and switched on, continues when I remove the power cord from the plug for a moment but then stops.
Person who used it wants to take it to a shop and get it fixed but they tried to withhold it last time due to not taking I.D when picking up, long story short their getting a brick through the shop window if they get hold of my items again and attempt to not release them.
So, to save the above issue, do I just need a new charger?
