Hi, so i was riding to work on my peugeot speedfight 2 100cc, she just loss power and stopped, i tried starting it and it just sounded like started was only turning? maybe crankshaft snapped? anyway i bought another one and have had it three days, it's done 14k miles, very nice condition, been stored for last 5 years, done about 150miles in 5 years, leave for work this morning and she just died, it will start and idle fine but when you open the throttle it dies, i bought it as spares repairs and it did this when i got it, so i cleaned out the carb and she ran fine, but drank like a lizard, put £5 petrol in and it lasted 25 miles! on my other one that would last way over 100 miles. So, i've cleaned the carb about 3 times, taken the top end off and inspected, couple of little scoring marks (looks like it's recently had top end), nothing serious, changed the exhaust, new spark plug, she's got oil n fuel. Can't think of anything else to do now? I'm just charging the battery and am going to test for compression later but if anyone has any ideas please let me know. It's all standard, jets, carb, exhaust etc. cheers |
