Fitting mounts to sports bikes

I bought a tomtom rider v5 and it came with RAM mounts.
every fitting possible apart from sports bikes lol

my bike is a CBR600F and i have seen 2 types of mount, im wondering if you guys have either of them or an opinion.

The first goes on the yoke

I have a yoke ram mount on the gixer, I prefer that as when I move the bars it rotates too. If I fixed a satnav to the tank like that I would be a little concerned that I couldn't go full lock to lock without accidentally knocking something unless you positioned the satnav high enough away from the bars.

Would you prefer to glance down at the yoke or the top of your tank? Is there much difference between the two positions? If no, go for whatever is cheapest/holds your satnav most securely.

Thats exactly what i was thinking.

is fixed to the tank going to be in the way of the bar/screen when turning, or even a tank bag?

seeing as i am going to have to buy an extra part for my mount anyway, i might as well pay the £16 for the yoke mount.

I did try the tomtom in the top of the tank bag, but often i couldnt see the screen with light reflecting off the plastic of the tank bag.
this had me looking down at the tank a lot more than i think is safe.... specially approaching junctions!!

Mine is mounted in the yoke nut. However since my nut is domed, you can't just put one of those inside-the-stem things in it, so I bought a Telferizer.

It is as good as it gets for an off-the-shelf arrangement. I prefer when I ghettoed an old one between the screen and the clocks... this was easier to glance at but was held by sticky Velcro patches and the power wire was just draped across the tank. Now I have a tucked power wire and a solid mount that is in an acceptable position for glancing at. I use it without speakers/headphones so need to read it and so far so good.
