So after getting more and more frustrated with the 125 in the near 18 months since CBT I decided enough was enough.

Paid close to £400 for two days and tests.

Monday, turned up at 8 for mod 1 training with the test at the end. Was told when I got there that test was at 1pm.

Never having ridden a 'big bike' everever, the pressure was on. Lots of practice on a quiet road with cones, and then a small car park, before an hours ride to the test center. Opening up that XJ6 was just fookin' awesome, didn't want it to end! (Compared to a YBR!)

Mod1, and the guy before me arsed it up big time, missing the gate for the emergency stop... Think he opened it up too early and ran wide. My turn, and got through it with no minors. Yesssss!!!

Was grinning all the way back.

Today was mod 2, asked to arrive at 7, told my test was at 8.30. FFS, we only went out for an hour, and I didn't feel prepared at all. I mean, I can ride, but i'd hoped for a bit more practice!

Examiner in a car, as his bike's not working, managed to lose him for a bit. Thought I'd failed after forgetting to indicate for the angled pull away (dead straight road, clear for miles, but i wasn't sure) and then after contemplating a gap at a round about, came off brake, started to move and then aborted it.

The last 10 minutes I was continually swearing at myself, convinced I'd fucked it.

Back to test center and i'd passed. Can only assume the rest of my ride was superfuckingsuperfuckingawesome! 3minors, but who cares?

So feel a bit cheated at only hours training and a test, didn't even get to play afterwards as the instructor had to go off for some one else.

But sod it, a pass is all that matters, right?

TL;DR I passed

Feeling great now... Standby for the "what big bike"thread!!

Early test = more time to go and buy your Fireblade.

Great stuff! Well done. Where in the UK did you take this? I'm desperate for Mod 1 and my instructor hasn't got me place yet and time is running out...

I mailed the school about availability, he claimed to have a cancelation so could fit me in the following week... No idea if that's true... Perhaps just carpet bomb email a few schools in the area?

They were pretty busy though, otherwise I might have got more flying time Sad
