PS3 is Kaput

Started today and it said there was no Hard Disc detected so I started to do this fix:-

He's using an earlier model, mines the latest slim one, but this started to work until....when my console asks to connect the controller using a USB cable and press the PS3 button, nothing happens. However, I only have an aftermarket controller. Could this be the problem?

I'd wait a bit before you buy the next gen. There's no point in paying the ''full price'' now. I mean, what games are there that you can't play on a PC today?

Also, and I'm no fan boy, I've heard the xbox one is backwards compatible with xbox 360 games. So if the new Fallout won't run on my PC, I'm buying the xbox, if I don't waste the money on motorcycles till then.

If Sony comes with backwards compatibility till then, I'm getting the Playstation. Wii-U is dead to me, still the full price + there are not many of games I'd like to play.

Hard drive had come loose It's packed with cardboard and it had just worked loose.

If you need spares, I've got an original 60gb Console with the card reader and backwards compatibility.
Got the classic YLOD and wasn't able to fix it with applying new solder
