So, I've built myself a 250 quad, doing ok flying it but would like a simulator for the days when the weather's bad or I'm away etc. I've got a cable for my transmitter so my laptop can use it as a controller... I've had a look for some Sims on torrent sites and not having much luck, I don't really want to spend loads on something I may or may not use much, so if anyone has any good torrents or cheap options I could try that would be great!

dunno but if you find one let me know.

Seen as I bought a quadcopter yesterday I'd be interested too.

Try RealFlight, I had quite a lot of fun with that. You can even buy a RC controller and plug it into your PC.

I'm not sure if you can fly a quad there, but there are helicopters, so I guess, if you search for addons, you can find a quad.

Real flight does seem to be the best, the newest 7.5 has quadcopter in it, but the cheapest I can find to buy is £80, it does come with a USB transmitter so you can control it on that.... but I don't really want to spend £80....and I can't seem to find any torrents of it to even try it.

There are other RC aircraft simulators, these games are rather easy on development.

This one for instance: https://youtu.be/mgP_wWqE6l0?t=3m40s

This looks nice and is getting good praise on RC Groups.

Mainly aimed at 250 racing quads, but could be helpful to others, great for learning acro mode. Nice price too.

I'll download it tonight and see how it is!

There's a very secretive, seldom heard of torrent site called The Pirate Bay.

Sort of related: I saw a guy with a quad copter, with a little camera on the front. The camera signal was sent to some glasses he was wearing so he could literally see where the thing was going.

Ultimate adventure/fun/spying/everything machine.

Yeah, should have my FPV set-up running shortly, but getting more flying experience first. It's not too expensive if you do some research and don't mind a bit of soldering and fiddling.

Got FPV freerider up and running using my transmitter via a USB cable, highly recommended for people learning to fly! There's free demos as well.
