Mod 2 passed today!

1 minor for going over a speed bump rather than going around it Confused Didn't think that would be a minor to be honest but oh well, couldn't give a flying pig, because I now have my license!

Have a CRF250L to potter about on, going to join the TRF and do all the greenlanes!

I think he was referring to his own 'Mod 2 passed' thread:

A few months into riding and I was still doing this, that was until one day my normal road home was blocked by roadworks new a shortcut down a back-road so decided not to follow the normal "diversion", was a dark evening anyhow soon discovered this shortcut has speed bumps the size of my house and all the way across the road, thought I'd passed the last one when I got up to about 20mph and went over what was the actual last one.

Good way to test my suspension works.. oh and I now know what it feels like to simulate a jockey on a motorbike, now I just perform a shoulder check to whatever side I'm going around the speed bump on and then make my way around it.

anyhow..

Guess you won't be going around any speedbumps in the near future then.

I got told that I had to ride over them by my instructor, as I was previously riding around them.

Anyway, congrats. Thumbs Up

Awesome! I have a CRF250L, better than the sum of it's parts. Takes abuse too. I'm a member of the Herts branch of the TRF (my name on the TRF forums is "senthx") though today I was green laning in Beds and Cambs, I actually led a ride! Well, one person turned up, but. Laughing

Thanks for all the replies!

I asked my instructor should I go over or around them, and he told me to go around them, but I had read online someone saying make sure you go over them on your test, so it was in the back of my mind I may fail if I don't, even thought I was instructed not to. Anyways, should have listened to my instructor, would have had a clean sheet! (not that it matters)

I've been out for a good few hours on the CRF250L now and I am pretty impressed with it. It's not going to win any drag races but it is a lot faster than I thought it would be, and no, speed bumps aren't a problem on this bike now, I have them all up my road and I was going over them standing up yesterday! (getting the practice in for the green lanes) Very Happy

Only complaint is my sprockets have been changed to 13/43 and my speedo is out so I'm not too sure how fast/slow I'm going.

Gear changes can be a bit clunky too, especially when I'm changing down the gears if I'm coming to a stop, it can be really loud. Bike has done 24k miles with no service history, so I've given it a good service and I'm hoping it's been looked after.

Bit poo riding on my own, waiting for my mate to get his bike fixed then we are going to plan a day in North Wales, been green laning there in the past in my Disco so I have a vague idea of the lanes there.

Going to join TRF in the next couple of months when the funds allow, and will hope to get out around wales!

Will be good to meet some new folk with the same interest!

just watch it when you stand up if you are not used to it, and don't accidentally knock the bike into neutral

Was alrite standing up but I did go over one sitting down too and it bumped me up and then when I landed back down on my seat it caused me to twist the throttle and I nearly lost my grip and fell off the back of the bike Embarassed
