An ancient eee PC, a Chromium OS distro from some random intardtuber, and a USB stick in the shape of a racecar.

Who's with me?

sudo who's with me?

How can you fuck up installing Chromium OS? Was the eeePC actually a Speak'n'Spell? Was the red wine secretly swapped with antifreeze?

UPDATED Progress report:

Consumed, addendum:
Half decent lager, 1
Cheap fizzypish, 0.5
Lidl green "Prongles", tube, 0.5

Recovered:
Unrelated Windows laptop, 1, using oven, graphics card for the baking of.
Intardtubes connection, using GiffGaff, tethered, spazzy version.

Can go fuck themselves with baseball bat studded with rusty nails dipped in shitty leprous pus:
Virgin Media.

That's how you fuck up a Chromium OS install. Your broadband connection shits its intestines down its leg again and some Gunga Din jabbers down the phone at you to unplug white cable please then black cable please again then books in a van monkey visit again when they should know damn fine well that it's a network fault, the same as it's been the last five times.

At this rate I might have to actually talk to the wife tonight. Is that what you want, Virgin Media? Is that what you want, because that's what's going to happen.

When it works it's great, when it plays up it is impossible to get to the bottom of as their support is full potato. You just have to wait and pray.

Bawwwed on Tweeter, connection came back up within 5 minutes.

Probably a complete co-incidence.

Right. Where were we?

Well, damn. Network comed up, Chromium OS installed ran from USB, it Just Works. Actually usably fast. Would stab a hippy in the face and sell out to Evil Megacorp again.

You should have stopped at the point the cheap red came into your possession, either give it back or slap yourself to prevent yourself from buying it.

Rest sounds like fun.

Before facepunch, start here though:
https://chromeos.hexxeh.net/ https://chromium.arnoldthebat.co.uk/index.php?dir=daily%2F

This has genuinely made an old netbook useful again as a Chrome web browser. Lunix Mint + some lightweight WM was unusably slow. Chromium is not. I am a happy, witless consumer.

I was about to suggest installing a legacy, pre-unity version of ubuntu.

Gutsy was working on my eeeeeeeeeeeePC 701 until i putted Xp back on it because I neded SOMETHING with windows to support my action cam settings wizard and WINE wasn't cutting it.

I have a box at work running Lucid LTS and it's still getting updates despite having officially passed its use-by date. I THINK that was the last gnome version.

If all else fails. I have yet to find a PC puppy doesn't work on incredibly quickly once it's set up.

Puppy was my fallback choice but this machine has been related to pure browersing, so I might as well try a browser OS. I've just realised that the hexxeh builds are years out of date so I'm trying an arnoldthebat daily aaaaaaaaaand it failed.

Doesn't work with my network adaptor. Wow. That's how you know it's a Lunix OS.

In any case. I can help with the cheap red.

Most are vastly improved by running them through an aerator.

I'm currently drinking Muriel Rioja. £5.99 from the coop. Tastes nothing like a rioja. more like a mediocre Bordeaux. Running it through my vinturi really brings out the chewey tannins and blackcurrant flavours at the back of the tongue.

Posted off a PC running chromium browser on LMDR.

Would say it adds at least £2-3 to a cheap bottle of red.

Dinnae ken, I decided to give the hippies another chance and settled on Lubuntu.

Do you really need RDP or could you lick the rainbow with VNC?

I mean just try it in Chrome / Chromium browser on whatever platform you're currently on. Chrome OS / Chromium OS is essentially the same browser plus the OS required to run it.

Even on Lubuntu, I installed Chromium (browser), logged into Google and BAM, all the plugins and bookmarks I've been using on other platforms just appeared automagically.

Privacy nightmare, convenience wet dream.
