Clutch cable decided to give up the ghost today and left me with a very long push home Evil or Very Mad I managed to get a brand new cable and fit it but now the clutch lever requires the strength of the hulk in order to operate. It's routed correctly and everything is where it should be (didn't realise that the GSXR clutch cables were a bastard to get to) and am not too sure what's causing the tightness. Any thoughts appreciated.

First off,

Is it an OEM part you fitted?

If so then either faulty part, and that is unlikely, or you only think you have fitted it correctly, check again.

I've made a fitting error more than once and was sure I had got it right first time around until I found out otherwise, just saying

I got it from a local bike spares shop. Not genuine Suzuki but made to fit my model/year.

That is where I would start to look then, get OEM and compare, if OEM is OK, return the the non OEM for refund.

If outer cable is OK, then:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/221346871298?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=c&rlsatarget=&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0

Just check that diameter of cable in spares pack is same diameter as your original clutch cable.

Tons of kits around if you google.

I think I paid £4.50 for a throttle and clutch cable spares kit with selection of connectors, comes in a small tin and worth keeping on the bike for emergencies.
