 |
|
Hi All
Fairly new to Go Pro's but taken mine skiing and just recently had it out on the bike.
Not really clued up with regards to editing and the Go Pro Studio is just awful.
I cant go an hour or so without it crashing and freezing or refusing to load a template etc. and actually finish a video.
My system is more than capable and tried the re-install and updates and still no luck. Running W7 too so shouldn't be having major issues.
Is there any alternative software you guys use to make videos with? Either free of paid? I don't mind paying for the software if it's decent.
I do like the ease of use of the Go Pro Studio although it doesn't work properly and lacks some more advanced features.
Any suggestions welcome |

I've been using open shot too.
Mine is mostly stable but does occasionally throw the toys out of the pram and just shuts itself down. So save regularly.
It has a multiplicity of export options.
Handles HD fine.
I'm not brilliant with it yet but it's very simple to do basic editing, moving clips around, multiple tracks, cutting, adding titles, fades etc. by click and drag. I've been playing around with speeding up and slowing down bits too.
Here's one of my recent canoeing videos done with open shot and an ion air pro camera. Not exactly thrill a minute but meh. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

If it's a fixed camera in the same place throughout the video, you could make a .PNG or .SVG image that's the same dimensions/aspect ratio as the video which is mostly transparent with a semi-transparent/pixellated area over the part where the speedo is. Put the image on top of the video as a seperate track.
There may be other ways of doing it.
It's open source so you can always just download it and have a fiddle then delete it if it doesn't suit you. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
