Right now I'm having to browse through my VPN. For some reason only encrypted traffic is working.

All normal traffic just times out. Any ideas? Rebooted (unplugged) the router several times which resolves it for about an hour.

Could Sky be having DNS resolving issues?
Not sure if that would cause the problem you're experiencing.
I'd try Google DNS on a machine and see if the problem persists.

Wish I could get fibre here, fucking annoying that I only get ADSL 2+ but it is 22mbit, which isn't all bad.

Sky won't upgrade the exchange... or BT and it's not like I live out in the sticks.

Welcome to the world of Openreach being unwilling to upgrade exchanges that won't net them government kickbacks. Tethering the work's wifi off my iPhone would likely see a four fold speed increase. Pretty sad frankly Neutral
