Anyone know how on Windows Server 2012?

My missus is in India on a business trip and Netflix isn't working (I assume due to the region), I thought I could set my home server as a Proxy for her to route through, how would I go about setting this up?

I read that, don't remotely understand it. Do you? I don't know how to set up certificates. I don't have a domain, or a know what a "federation service name" is.

I just want to let her route traffic through my server, not set up enterprise level security.

If all that seems a bit like hard work, check out openvpn or hamachi

Hamachi is much easier - the other way to do it is let her have a teamviewer session to a computer on your home network ( Teamviewer is free for home users ).

Dunno how good it will be but you can always try it and see.

It might work better in a windowed session rather than full screen .... depends how good yours / her net connection is.

As i said, depends on your net connection and whether or not you run full screen.

Some parts of india you couldn't stream video even if you were connected directly to the ISP router.

Maybe I'm not explaining properly

She has an iPhone and android Tablet.

On the iPhone there is this option.

https://egalo.com/uploads/2012/05/iOS-proxy-settings.png

I want to have it so she can enter my IP and a port (I have already forwarded it) and route all the traffic through my server.

You'll also need to ensure the IP of the proxy server and the port it runs on are not blocked to external clients by your router.

Out of interest, does your home router have any kind of VPN provision?

Can you not just set up remote access and have her sign in?

Even over my lan watching netflix via RDP gets about 2-3FPS, can't imagine what it'll be like from hotel Wifi in India!

I've already forwarded the ports, my router is a Virgin Super hub 2 no VPN that I can see.

Tried the analogue X thing and can't get it to work, however I don't know if that is her being spazzy.

I just have to turn it on and forward the ports right?

I have used this before and it works well:
https://www.proxyplus.cz/

Install it on a machine
Forward the required ports on your router to the machine
Set up DNYDNS and a web address. install the client (this means you can point your clients to your PC by using the web address and if your IP changes it will always update and work still)

Then you can watch anywhere. Suggest using security though or you might find more than you using the proxy
