Your daughter. Suggest you put your hand in your pocket and pay for it yourself. Thumbs Down

a bit of fundraising.

Megan wants to race karts at a high level and knows it won't just be handed to her in a plate so has taken the Initiative ... while raising money for charity.
If you see it as paying for her racing (which is not the case at all)

How much will go to the charity vs in her fund that she doesn't expect will be handed to her?

By the way, I'm doing a fundraising event of me playing my rusting bass guitar out of tune to fund my pilot's licence while also raising money for Macmillans. Wanna donate?

"Fundraising event to raise money for both my kart racing and for a fantastic charity"

I'm sure you can see why people might think the event is to try and get people to pay for your kid to race go karts.

Anyway, out of interest what championships has she race in so far?

Ok look don't worry about it. It's all for free and she is just putting a small raffle on that's all. More than anything she just wanted to show everyone her kart and what she does and where she wants to go with it and have a good night in the process. The charity she is raising money for helps kids in sports to achieve their dreams so it's all related. It's ok though as it's clearly been misunderstood, if people don't get it that's not a problem

So will all the money raised go to the charity or will a portion of it go to the "team"?

Money that goes to the charity then goes to to team.

"earlier this year Megan applied to the Benjamin Gautrey Foundation for a grant to get her the best safety gear that she needed to race. The grant was approved and, thanks to the foundation, she was able to get a new Arai helmet and a new Freem race suit in her ST Racing Team colours."

If it's to help her progress in karts, why is she racing in an independent series where there is little progression?

Why is she not racing under the MSA on a proper MSA kart race license? There is no future in motorsport racing in independent competitions. Asking for money for a bit of fun on a track is insulting, especially when she has no future in the sport.
