I can't seem to find a clear answer to this. How long does it take to get your full licence from the day the Mod 2 examiner takes it from you when you pass? I'm assuming you can't hire a bike until you have this in your hand...

How long is a piece of string? This is the DVLA you are asking about!

You will have a pass certificate that might be acceptable to the hiring company.

I doubt you would be able to hire a bike JUST after passing your test.

"Yes sir, do take this bike for the weekend worth £7k without any experience..."
...
"You dropped it, well that would be your deposit fucked then"

Out of interest why do you want to hire one straight away?

Baptism of fire. A bike tour of some scenic routes along the West of England. The hirers are ok, as long as we've had a car licence some time, good NCB, (and we're all over 30), so we're not some fly by night rapscallions looking to do the helicopter past some screaming perma-tan bints knuckle deep in their fish and chips & Watney's Party 7 Laughing

You would if you hired the Striple instead of the WK.

I think it took about 2 weeks to get mine through.

With counterparts being done away with, hire companies will want to check your license details online anyway:

https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

The actual physical card isn't really significant any more except as a form of ID.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping. The important part is essentially online. Whether they see it that way is another point entirely. I best give them a call

Baptism of fire indeed. May not be the fun and frolics you envisage.

Good luck anyway Thumbs Up

Presumably they mean "any sorts".

Decent range of bikes

Prices aren't mental either, £50 - £75 a day.

Thanks Mark

It is indeed Motorcycles2hire. I've had a car licence 17 years + too

I have family that choose to live in Warrington. I don't visit. They're obviously mental Laughing
