Honestly does anyone own a "Black Ratty" sticker which is apparently the police symbol for their motorcycle club?

I got one with Fast Bikes or something a while ago and people wrote in about how the rozzers let them get off with speeding because of the "Black Rat".

Do you know anything about this please let me know? Razz

Phil

Don't think they'll be of much use now as I'm sure that most traffic police officers are aware that they have been given away on bike mags. And you might be done for impersonating a police officer. Razz Laughing

The genuine one I have on the back of my car is quite different to the one given away with the magazine!

It is unique to the Met Police Traffic division only not any other force, although most traffic officers know what it means.

It has helped me a couple of times, but I have not putit to the test for legal matters!

They will probably still pull you over, then if you have your warrant card they might let you off. We see people driving round with military slogans and cap badges on there cars for some reason. They look quite strange!

Yeah i seen that in the magazine too, haven't used it though.

Though in the caption were it says "Black ratty sticker acts as a get out of jail free card" it is because hes covering one of licence plate numbers with it Wink

It's a sticker which has given away with some of the bike magazines, and it is a symbol which is normally given out by traffic police officers so that they can be identified by each other when off duty and the idea all the magazines say is it's like a get out of jail free card.

surrey police used too have one on a old ford escort as a unmarked car (years ago) and the idea was that other police cars would see the sticker from behind and know not to pull the car if it was being used for operations etc. but now ever one from ped boi,s to novas have them slaped on

no I don't think that is.

it's a circular sticker with a black rat sitting on its hind legs.
A google image search left me empty handed...

It's this. The unofficial, but widely used and recognised symbol of the Met. Police Traffic Division! Be careful though, because 'Black Rats' definately don't like to be deceived and they have been known to 'eat' their own... Twisted Evil Cool

It would look well getting pulled over and saying to the officer "Black rat". He'd probably throw the book at you for being cheeky. Laughing
