So got a big fat tax refund in the post a few weeks back, so did the sensible thing and made this happen:

Passed in January and haven't been on a bike since then, so it seemed sensible to ride it 270 miles from my mate's home in southeast London back to Lancashire... Via the Peak District and the Cat & Fiddle.
More pics:
At my mate's garage, his is the near-immaculate white RC36 I, mine's the tatty RC36 II behind with droopy panniers:

Somewhere near Buxton I think...

Got lost, so fun, many wows

Finally back near home, on top of Parbold Hill, came across this rather neat Charger, driven by a big burly man with tattoos. It sounded epic

My thoughts on the bike:
Fast as fuck
My back hates it (bar raisers needed)
A doddle to ride, super smooth and lovely gearbox, throttle etc.
INB4 chain looks slack etc. (it actually is; C wrench ordered)
Well chuffed ____________________ Up the bum no babies. |

Very nice
Your back will get used to it, stick with it. First couple of weeks on a sports bike for me were severe pain, now I don't notice and actually think on longer runs hunched over position is comfier, especially when the wind is pushing you back when you're travelling along.

nice
To echo above give the position a bit of time. My ZZR was killing me when I first got it but it was actually I'd got used to a very different sitting position so was sitting on it wrong, once I got it right it became extremely comfortable. |

Slacken pinch bolt and tap castellated wheel downwards using a flat bladed screwdriver to tighten your chain.
Or buy the c spanner ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Very nice Agree on giving some time to adjust your riding position. When I went from an upright dualsport to a Ninja 250 it took about a week for my arms to get used to the different angles of the handlebars ____________________ Motorsapien Art |

Agree with the above, and to add to it, I've never really become comfortable over long distance on my very upright diversion, after 100 miles or so the lower back and arse really starts to hurt. It's something I never once suffered with on my previous sportier bikes.
One point of note on sportier bikes, learning to support your weight properly with your core muscles and legs makes a world of difference to the pressure on your wrists. In essence you end up clamping the tank with your legs and then holding your top half up in a semi sit up position.
Not entirely sure that last bit makes much sense reading back ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |
