It's a smallish mid-terrace yard that's been neglected and unloved for years and years.

Borrowed a pressure washer and got to work.

The gravel was covered in oil, don't ask, so bagged it up and took it the tip.

Missus painted the back gate.

Chiminea arrived.

New gravel laid, plant pot holders build and placed, trellis fixed to the wall.
Missus wanted this dresser thing in the yard, brought that downstairs and she painted it.

More plants arrived, they were potted. I pruned the Yukka plant and put cuttings outside.

Still waiting on some climbing plants to arrive, they'll be going where the trellis is.

Not messing with the crumbling render on the walls, that shit is waaaaay to sketchy.

That's it I think, not sure if she wants anything else doing to it.

A half decent place to drink beer Thumbs Up

Looks great!

Suntan gardening tip number 42 - Get down to B&Q garden centre bit, up the corner, you'll find "Death Row" where they put all the half-dead plants, dead(!) cheap. They don't look pretty but soon come back to life with a little TLC oh, yes, and water..........

I sold the 50cc scooter, and the mini is now upstairs sat on a workbench in my computer room.

Those boxes, donated by Tesco home delivery, are full of bike parts.

Looks good. Thumbs Up

just moved into a similar type of place myself (mid terrace) that has also has a rear yard/garden that's been neglected for some time.

I'll not be doing anything to it until next year though, as I'll be spending my time decorating the inside of the house from top to bottom first.

I can't decide whether to pave over the small 'garden' part and put in some potted plants or leave it and do it up though.

Nice transformation there, looks good. Thumbs Up

Maybe go a bit further and trellis it right up to the gate.

That damp, green, bleak coating of destitution and neglect you've captured so perfectly in the "before" shots is pretty much how I envisage everywhere north of Gloucester.

Needless to say it looks much, much better Thumbs Up .

I like the dresser with the mirror. Nice touch, increases the perceived size of yard. Are you going to put plants in the drawers?

He also 'borrowed' a pressure washer. Words take different meanings in and around Liverpool. Wink

HOLY THREAD REVIVAL!

We had a new wall built last year and all the slabs & gravel were moved, they were never replaced properly.

Everything was a bit shit afterwards, dirty and covered in cat upchucked hairballs.... and the flower bed was being used as te worlds largest litter tray. The rose bushes loved it, but it was totally minging.

Pulled the tree, it was just too big and smelled of cats, and then laid some ballast and sand to dry bed the slabs I pulled from the path.

https://i.imgur.com/Bfkqfp2l.jpg

Moved the slabs, which were loose and wobbly, then laid new ones properly.

https://i.imgur.com/Obok4ell.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/oqp5epel.jpg

Shifted all the gravel and riddled it to separate all the crud.
Removed the old wall around the drain and used the old slabs to make a surround for it.
Laid down a slurry mix and threw some gravel on top.

https://i.imgur.com/cI1eHEil.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/QIo5szYl.jpg

Not totally finished yet, still gotta grout it some time over the next few days, but I have to jetwash and wait for things to dry first.

Did you ever return that "borrowed" pressure washer, or was it more of a "keep it all" deal?

I'm amazed that the dresser survived so long. With indoor furniture the damp normally gets into them and they rot out over the first winter... in my limited experience Laughing
