Is it just me or has selling sports bike become more difficult these days, I've got my daytona 675 up for £3400 and I'm not getting much interest, been offered 3k in Part ex by stealers but they have nothing I want but over priced stuff...

Maybe I just need to be more patient but it seems to me unless ur bikes under 2k these days it's difficult to sell.

Its mid season. Most people who are looking for bikes for the summer season have already bought them. You'll find end of season is a better time to sell but you wont get a great price or wait until Spring next year for a better price.

I'm having issues getting rid of a ZZR600D for 500 quid. Something has definitely polluted the waters.

There's plenty of 600-1000cc second hand bikes in my local dealer, but I'm guessing that people don't really want to spend much more than this on a summer toy at the moment.

My two thoughts are:

1, There are some good 0% finance deals on Yamaha and particularly Suzuki's, so maybe people are going for new sportsbikes more at the moment?

2, People that have the cash want the flash new stuff, and maybe people are either just going out buying expensive new R1's and S1000RR's etc, or simply hanging on to what they have got until they can afford to buy these bikes new/nearly new?

Oh and 2014-2015 has seen the rise of many highly rated naked's that are probably more in fashion than 200bhp sports bikes atm, and seen as the bikes to have at the moment?

Dealer's are still doing crazy prices though, my local shop has a 2005 DT125RE up for £3800! Laughing
