I've had a couple of issues recently starting my 2008 fuel injected YBR 125 when the weather is hot. My theory is that the hot weather evaporates the fuel in the fuel line or injector, causing a vapour lock and preventing starting. If I leave it overnight to cool down its fine when I come back to it.

I'm sure I remember reading something about this problem elsewhere but was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing?

Does anyone have any advice for how to get round this problem when it happens? Having to leave the bike until its cooled is a bit of a pain...

Hi there, yes i had this exact problem with my 07 ybr.

It is a known fault by Yamaha. Although they never actually officially recalled them, if you contact a dealer directly they gave me a new fuel injector free. (I had to pay for labour)

Basically they slight increase in temp tricks the fuel injector to think it is over heated and dose not inject any fuel for ignition.

So yeah, its a pain, but a very fixable problem.

I hope this helps / reassures you.

This technique was used with some success while waiting for parts to arrive.

Very Happy

Do they still do this, even for older bikes?

Thanks for the help - I'll pop some iced water in the top box so I'm ready for the next warm spell...
