Afternoon BCF,

Long story short, I've got 4 weeks until my CBT expires and I've got my theory pass and my mod 1 A1 pass sorted, but I'm too skint to afford to sit my mod 2 through a school before the 5th of August as I sold my bike end of last year.

Can I let it expire, redo my CBT then pass my mod 2 as my theory/mod 1 passes have over 12 months validity left or will I have to sit the whole lot again?

Tried to get through to the DVSA people and they're only open 9-12 Mon-Fri Evil or Very Mad Mad Every time I call they never pick up as well.

Ta.

I think the test passes are valid for two years from date of issue and the CBT is only needed in order for you to ride legally, ie. they're seperate and unconnected entities. I could of course be completely wrong.

Yup, CBT is independent of anything else.

However, if your theory pass expires (after 2 years), that also invalidates your mod 1. No idea why, other than general purpose cuntishness.

Makes sense, how can you possibly rely on someone to safely perform simple mototcycle circus tricks when it's two years since they've proven their knowledge of trams and carbon emmissions? Wink

Through my local school it's test fee (£75?) plus £60 for actually having the bike for 2 hours so £135 at least, not counting any resits (and I've failed it once as it is Laughing) My brother's got a 125 but it's SORNed at the moment, never mind being able to afford insurance on it so 360 quid for insurance (that's what my insurance was on my 125) + 75 quid test fee... it adds up so the cheapest way is through a school, that's even if they had a free slot for me to actually sit the test.

Either way, ta for the offer but I'm up north Laughing Plus I'd probably crash it anyway Laughing

Think that's got 12 months or so left on it, maybe a bit less, will have to check but either way as long as no CBT means = no anything then I'm happy.

As said, Your CBT may run out between tests but you must have a valid one to sit each module. So you'll need another CBT. Your mod 1 pass certificate will run out when your theory test runs out so you have until then to complete module 2.

Aye, that's not a problem, I can sit that at a later stage I just can't afford a mod 2 right now (or at any point before my CBT expires).

Probably do it early next year, when no doubt it'll shit it down on test day Mad
