Hello

Never balanced carbs before and need to do it on my 2000 reg GS500E and could do with some encouragement.I've made up a temp fuel container using a aluminium drinking bottle etc .

Firstly, which of the two balancing tools would be easier for a newbie like me to use? The car synchroniser or the carbtune? Or does it not even matter.

Secondly, has anyone got any links to any sites / video's that will take me through it step by step?

I'm sure i can do it i'm just sh*tting myself a tad but i'm sure it's not rocket science.

Lastly I had to replace some pipes on my main fuel cock (see pic) could someone please tell me what each labelled pipe goes to as i've got myself confused.

Thanks all.

Google or youtube motorbike manometer and save some money. I made my set for a IL4 for under a fiver. Find vacuum pipes or holes. Holes you may need an adapter. Attach pipes with engine off if using a home made liquid one or you sook the liquid into the engine. Dont ask how i know. Between the carbs you should have a screw and a locknut. Undoо the locknut and turn the screw until your fluid in the pipes sit level. Hold screw and tighten lock nut. Turn engine off before removing pipes.

Same idea if using carbtune or whatever you buy.
